Equipping Young People with Skills for a Better Future

Equipping Young People with Skills for a Better Future

Bash Bright Future Foundation believes that practical skills are key to reducing poverty and creating sustainable livelihoods. As part of our Skills Development Programme, we have established a tailoring training centre in Mugiti Sub-county, Budaka District, where we have purchased five sewing machines to equip young women and men with vocational skills.

The programme provides hands-on training in tailoring, enabling participants to gain skills that can help them start small businesses, secure employment, and become financially independent. We are encouraged by the interest from the community, but the demand for training continues to grow. At present, our greatest challenge is limited capital to purchase additional sewing machines and expand the programme to accommodate more trainees.

Looking ahead, we plan to introduce other vocational skills such as carpentry, welding, hairdressing, and crafts as the foundation continues to grow. With the support of partners and donors, we aim to create a vibrant vocational training centre that empowers young people with practical skills, promotes self-reliance, and contributes to the economic development of our communities.
